Cold…it is all relative!

I know some of you will think that this is cruel but it is just relative!  There are four seasons in many places in the world, while in others November looks and feels a lot like June.  Hawaii is one of those places.  The temperature throughout the year changes minimally and most days are just plain warm and humid.  Not complaining, but stating a fact.  The same thing in Thailand, where the temperature changes are only a few degrees.  Fun fact, Bangkok, is considered the hottest city in the world year round.

Even though we experience beautiful weather all year round in Hawaii, palm tree leaves don’t change color.  Growing up in Calgary, AB, Canada, we had the most beautiful Fall - red, orange, yellow leaves falling off the trees.  Along with that though also came with it cold winds and shortly after that, 6 feet of snow.
When I say that cold is relative, I mean that even though I was exposed to some of the coldest winters, I now find Hawaii ‘winter’ nights to be cold and even days.  Today, November 25, 2014 it is a chili 75F (24C).  Crazy I know but as I sit at home writing this post, I am in a long sleeve shirt, sweater and long pants, drinking a hot cup of coffee.

I went to the driving range the other night and everyone, including myself, was in long sleeves and brrrr…that wind was cold! Once you become acclimatized to a certain place what you used to know or feel was cold - changes, drastically.
What does your November look like?  I would love to see pictures from around the world of what the weather is like during this time of year.  Tag me in your winter pictures on Instagram @nomadperspective

Do you prefer a colder climate or a hotter one?  I know many people in my life that love cold weather, which is not for me, other than the changes in seasons also brings with it changes in wardrobe!  4 different closets of clothes…I am all down for that.

Best,

MJ

I always wear a scarf before I head outside. I mean, with this cold weather, you will die before you reach your next destination. Wearing a scarf can really help increase your body temperature, it is also very stylish to wear. There are a lot of brands that sell scarfs, and I can recommend my favorite ones to you. I do hope that you decide to wear some of them in the future, they will really look good on you.
