Talk about perfection for our first meal in Vegas and to begin the celebrations for 5 years that Sid and I have been together.  The concierge at The Cosmopolitan suggested Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Hotel, just a short walk from The Cosmopolitan, which was a good thing because the Vegas heat was a little overwhelming for me.  We got a perfect table in the shade on their outdoor terrace, with an unobstructed view of the Bellagio fountain, which could never get old.  Plus, it was the perfect place for people watching, one of my favorite pastimes.   We saw people from every age group, nationality, level of intoxication carrying varying sizes of alcoholic beverages, and in various stages of heat stroke.

To our pleasure, our server was a local Hawaii girl from Molokai.  She was fantastic and seemed to be able to anticipate the type of dishes we would enjoy.  In true style, Sid and I had a beautiful 2.5 hour lunch, which passed very quickly while enjoying the ambiance.

Bon Appetit!

Champagne Flight! Perfectly refreshing for a hot afternoon.

Caramelized Sea Scallops with olive oil poached bell peppers, tomato, and basil.

Grilled Salmon & Spinach Salad with avocado, blueberries, walnuts, and a citrus dressing.

La Grande Profiterole filled with vanilla ice cream with homemade double chocolate fudge. It was the perfect combination of richness from the fudge with the cool sweet ice cream! Rounded out the meal nicely.
I would love a restaurant like Mon Ami Gabi in Honolulu with a beautiful outdoor terrace, reasonable prices, exceptional service, and high quality food.

High quality food + exceptional service + perfect atmosphere + great company = a priceless memory.

Best,

MJ

hanks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience of mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools. Appreciate you reading and sharing your story since I can certainly relate and I think others can to
