Food on a Stick and Fresh Produce

Started to already collect all of my fresh goodies like zucchini and arugula! Plus sipping on The Fix! I am rocking one of the new HI Class Clothing Tanks (soon available at www.HIClassClothing.com) with a new beach bag - "Aloha State of Mind" on the other side - rasta!
I love farmers' markets.  There is a great energy with a variety of vendors and shoppers. Since 2009, I have been going to the Kapiolani Community College (KCC) Saturday morning farmers' market.

I definitely have my go to foods that I look forward to but there are a lot of new food vendors that I am looking forward to trying.  My two favorite things to eat are served on a stick – sausage and corn.

The beverage may change, but the only constant factor in life is the spicy Portuguese sausage on a stick! We eat one every time!

The best jump start in the morning is from Pacifikool - The Fix, which is Hawaiian Ginger Syrup, Kauai Estate Dark Roast Coffee, spices and milk.  It is very tasty with a little bitterness from the coffee and the earthiness from the ginger.  My other favorites is the Island Ginger Ale with Hawaiian Ginger Syrup and Lime Carbonated Water.  They are really refreshing.  Plus there are great health benefits from the ginger - please consult your doctor for additional information!
A more recent favorite is crepes from Petit Suisse Crepes.  The Weekly Special - Works - has it all, with egg, ham, spinach, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and basil oil.  The crepe is thin and a little sweet and the basil oil really gets the taste buds going.  This special does change occasionally.

We bring our reusable shopping bag [HI Class beach bag available at www.HIClassClothing.com – yes…a little plug!] and always pick up some fresh, local produce. We generally pick up some baby arugula, avocados, zucchini, cucumbers, lemons, limes, corn, plus anything that looks fresh and is local!  I like to support the local farms and am lucky to be able to get fresh produce at the best price.

The KCC farmers' market is busy with tourists and locals alike (rain or shine), even more so now that it is summer, but that energy is what I like.  It is the perfect Saturday morning activity.

Everybody gets to enjoy the energy from the market! A friend just hanging out in the cactus garden at KCC.
See you next Saturday!

Best,

MJ
